It may seem strange, but according to Harley Pasternak, personal trainer of celebrities like Megan Fox, Katy Perry, Rihanna and Kim Kardashian, says that if you want to lose weight, the least important part is going to the gym. Pasternak says that a week has 168 hours, and even if you train 2, 3, 4 or 5 times a week for an hour, you are still not working 95% of the week. So everything you do during this time is much more important than what you do in the gym.

Before going to the gym, during the first two weeks, start walking 10,000 then 12,000 and finally up to 14,000 steps. With a Fitbit, it will be much easier for you to keep track and maintain your motivation to achieve your goal.

2. Reset your diet
Pasternak follows a body replacement diet (explained in his 2013 best-selling book Body Reset Diet ) that consists of consuming three shakes and two snacks per day for the first five days. For the next five days, replace your dinner shake with one of the following regular meals: soup, salad, sandwich, stir fry, sushi, or a fruit and vegetable smoothie. This diet will help you restore metabolism, digestion, and appetite.
3.Take quality sleep
Focus on having a quality sleep. It is proven that those who do not rest well tend to gain more weight because the hormones that control hunger soar. And the hormones that tell the brain that we are full of suppressed.
4.Disconnect from gadgets
Are you one of those who spend the day watching your mobile, or are you in front of screens? Disconnect! Studies show that the light emitted by screens messes up our sleep patterns, mood, and appetite.
5.Drink water regularly
Water has been considered by many to be a weight loss agent. It delivers oxygen throughout the body. Which helps in increases the number of calories burned by 24-30% within 15 minutes.
6.Take Smaller Portions
Over time, the portions served in restaurants have been increasing. This due to the change in plate size and also the preference to use of platter. With each increase, people are encouraged to eat more. This has been linked to the rampant increase in obese people. Studies have shown that serving food in smaller portions helps one consume fewer calories and be aware of what they consume.
The best way to know the progress of a plan is to measure its effectiveness. Record your weight daily for seven days, and then find the average by dividing the total by seven. Compared to the week before, the weight for that week shows your progress in burning the excess calories in your body.
